Friendly bar offering an ever-changing roster of three cask ales, sourced from innovative and interesting breweries near and far. These are complemented by eight keg beers and ciders and a wide range of bottles and cans on display in the fridge alongside the bar; Belgian and German beers feature heavily. Japanese street food vendor Eatchu provides sustenance, plus roasts on Sundays. A partly covered rear yard and tables on the front pavement provide outdoor drinking space. Dogs and families are welcome. The bar's name derives from the Latin words for hop (humulus lupus) and wolf (lupus), the latter a nod to the owners' other business, Alpha tap and bottle shop, whose logo is a wolf. A single low step provides entry, but the rest of the bar is over several different levels, which may offer challenges to those with limited mobility.
