Friendly bar offering an ever-changing roster of three cask ales, sourced from innovative and interesting breweries near and far. These are complemented by eight keg beers and ciders and a wide range of bottles and cans on display in the fridge alongside the bar; Belgian and German beers feature heavily. Japanese street food vendor Eatchu provides sustenance, plus roasts on Sundays. A partly covered rear yard and tables on the front pavement provide outdoor drinking space. Dogs and families are welcome. Monthly quizzes on a Wednesday except in Summer months. The bar's name derives from the Latin words for hop (humulus lupus) and wolf (lupus), the latter a nod to the owners' other business, Alpha tap and bottle shop, whose logo is a wolf. A single low step provides entry, but the rest of the bar is over several different levels, which may offer challenges to those with limited mobility.
