Two bar pub at the east end of the town. The left hand bar as you go in is the public bar, which is lively and popular with local characters. Aficionados of pub carpets will appreciate the lounge bar to the right, where the ambience is more sedate. In addition to the one regular and one changing (generally from the Marston's portfolio) real ales, still cider is available in the form of Thatcher's Stan's Traditional. Live sport is available in both bars, and there is a very pleasant secluded beer garden to the rear with a covered area.
