Nestled in the picturesque Mendip Hills, The Waldegrave is a community-owned country pub where tradition meets contemporary charm; a welcoming haven for locals and visitors alike. The genuine hospitality in a relaxed setting is ideal for a cosy fireside pint or a delicious meal made with the best local ingredients. Since April 2026 a team of staff and local volunteers have stepped up to keep the doors open, while a long-term plan is in the works. Villagers from all walks of life, all ages and stages, have rolled up their sleeves to pitch in – helping with the gardening, maintenance, book keeping, marketing and pulling a few pints too. Sourcing from local suppliers has helped made it a place people really want to support. The bar is stocked with Cheddar Ales, Arbor Ales, Lost & Grounded and Somerset craft cider company Pulpt, as well as wines from Mendip Bottle. Meat is supplied by Kelly’s in Chew Magna and eggs from Ed King, an East Harptree young farmer.
